5 night fishing itinerary for couples or families
Day 1: Arrival in Panama City
Morning-Afternoon: Arrive at Tocumen International Airport in Panama City. You will be met by our VIP representative that will escort you through customs to your baggage belt followed by meeting your driver who will take you to your hotel.
Evening: Check into your hotel – either The Hilton in Downtown, or The Sofitel in Casco Viejo. Explore the historic district and enjoy local cuisine at a nearby restaurant.
Day 2: Travel to the Lodge, Panama Nautical Club
Morning-Afternoon: Pick up from your hotel to your guided tour of choice: Panama Canal or explore the Old Town Casco Viejo. Upon finishing the tour, your driver will take you the airport for your domestic flight to David. Upon landing in David, you will be met by our driver who will take you to the lodge. Transportation from the airport to the lodge takes approximately 1 hour. Option to skip tour and travel to the lodge in the morning.
Afternoon: Check into the lodge, where you will be welcomed with a cool drink and given an orientation of the grounds.
Evening: Enjoy a 3 course gourmet dinner at the lodge and briefing with your captain about the fishing days ahead.
Day 3: Offshore Fishing
Early Morning: Have breakfast in the restaurant and those fishing can head offshore for a full day of fishing. Target species include marlin, sailfish, yellowfin tuna, and dorado. Non anglers can enjoy lie in, and go to a yoga class.
Afternoon: Continue fishing and enjoy lunch on the boat. For the non-anglers, you can embark on a guided jungle hike followed by an afternoon spa session.
Evening: Return to the lodge, freshen up, and enjoy dinner. Share stories and pictures of the day’s catch with fellow anglers.
Day 4: Offshore or Inshore Fishing
Early Morning: Have breakfast in the restaurant and everyone can head offshore or inshore for a full or half day of fishing. Target species include roosterfish, black marlin, and dorado.
Afternoon: Choose to continue fishing and enjoy lunch on the boat or head back to the resort, in time for a jungle hike to see the howler monkeys.
Evening: A special dinner featuring your freshly caught fish awaits!
Day 5: Offshore Fishing
Early Morning: Have breakfast in the restaurant and head offshore for a full day of fishing. Target species include marlin, sailfish, yellowfin tuna, and dorado. For those who choose not to go fishing, they can go snorkeling and explore one of Panama’s most vibrant reefs, or go on a guided kayaking tour to the mangroves from our bay.
Afternoon: Continue fishing and enjoy lunch on the boat.
Evening: Enjoy your last dinner in the restaurant or a beachfront grill at the Beach Club. Prepare cooler to bring your fish home.
Day 6: Return to Panama City
Morning: Travel back to Panama City in time for your international flight (book anytime after 1pm).

Our boats can comfortably take up to 4-5 anglers per boat. We will not take more than 5 anglers on one boat.
Yes, our fishing excursions or charters are private.
As Panama Nautical Club operates as an all-inclusive, the average tips range between 10-20% of the total bill, which covers both ground staff and boat crew. You are welcome to allocate your tip to the relevant teams at the end of your stay or use the lodge’s fair allocation formula.
The boats leave our dock anytime after sunrise or 6:30am, and return by 4pm. Anglers are welcome to leave later or return earlier if they wish to.
Of course! Panama Nautical Club offers both inshore and offshore excursions. Your trip can be tailored to your preferences, the conditions, and target species – you will speak with your captain the night before to come up with a game plan. Whether you want the thrill of chasing marlin and sailfish in the open ocean or a closer-to-shore experience going after roosterfish or cubera snapper, we can make it happen.
Isla Parida is located 6 nautical miles from the lodge with a travel time of only 12 mins. Another inshore spot we frequently visit is Islas Secas, located 15 nautical miles from the lodge with a travel time of 40 minutes.
Montuosa is located 40 nautical miles from the lodge, resulting in a travel time of 1.25 hrs. The Bank is located 48 nautical miles from the lodge with a travel time of 1.5 hrs.
No need. Panama Nautical Club provides top-of-the-line rods, reels, tackle, and bait which is included. If you have personal equipment you prefer, you’re welcome to bring it.
